Year 2 Pupils start Unit 8 about The City

Los alumnos de 2º empiezan la Unidad 8 sobre la Ciudad

Vuestro hijo/a está a punto de empezar la Unidad 8 de su libro de Conocimiento del Medio Macmillan Natural and Social Science 2. La unidad trata sobre la ciudad (The city) y en ella va a:

· identificar los principales elementos constitutivos de las ciudades y la finalidad de cada uno

· comprender indicaciones para ir a un sitio

· distinguir entre edificios públicos y privados

· hacer observaciones sobre los medios de transporte que se usan en su localidad y clasificarlos de distintas formas

· comprender la importancia de seguir unas reglas básicas de seguridad vial

· reconocer la importancia de las diferentes profesiones en ciudades y pueblos

Además, hará una investigación sobre la cantidad de tráfico que hay en su zona y recitará dos rimas tituladas City. Con ambas podrá repasar el vocabulario clave de la unidad en contexto; animadlo/a para que las escuche en casa mientras mira el Picture dictionary en la página 133 del libro.

Los deberes para esta unidad consisten en que observe el tráfico en distintos lugares del barrio y anote el número de vehículos que pasan. Acompañad al niño/a a un lugar seguro para que pueda mirar el tráfico durante cinco minutos y ayudadle a apuntar en un cuadro cuántos vehículos de cada clase circulan en ese tiempo. Luego hablad sobre los resultados del estudio y animadlo/a a anotar qué tipo de vehículo es el más común y cuál el menos frecuente.
